Vacations are about many things yet only one thing that links them all together: a temporary change of scenery while breaking from routine. When people come to the Smokies, they get that change of scenery and find several ways to recharge themselves – some come to relax in the bless of the Tennessee Appalachians and others come to release some massively pent-up energy!
If you’re looking to get life pumping in those veins with the fam in Sevier County, we can recommend a few places to get started with. Take a look below:
TopJump
You’ve seen them on Youtube, now get the trampoline park experience on the parkway in the Smoky Mountains! Located with excellent visibility as you head towards Gatlinburg, TopJump allows you to break the laws of gravity to live out the ninja and acrobatic dreams you’ve always wanted to live out. For those unfamiliar with trampoline parks, this is an attraction where a majority of the floor space is made up of trampoline material where you can jump, flip, spin and more with just the trampoline panels alone. TopJump then features many ways to build off of that experience with Cliffhanger Challenges, a Fire & Ice Ninja Course, the Boneyard Stunt Tower, Airstrike Dodgeball, Arcade Alley and others.

The Tomb
Out at Walden’s Landing on the parkway of Pigeon Forge is a most peculiar type of attraction that you can see from some distance – The Tomb Egyptian Adventure awaits you and your group with a 45-minute pharoah-themed escape game. This was the first escape game to be brought to the Tennessee Smokies and it still stands as one of the most unique of the brand. Solve puzzles, explore to find the way out and get bombarded with high quality special effects. Definitely an attraction to consider for all types of getaways!

Rafting in the Smokies
No experience necessary at Rafting in the Smokies. Whitewater adventure for you and the whole family (Children need to be at least 8 years old) as you raft down the Upper Pigeon or Lower Pigeon rivers. You can choose a relaxing riparian ride through natural Smokies or something with some chest hair as you go whitewater against Class III and Class IV Rapids. It’s a good morning or afternoon trip – The White water trip is 1 1/2 hour long and the Lower Pigeon is 2 hours drifting through gorgeous mountain river. Its a great way to begin or cap off the family reunion.

Dollywood
People come to the Smokies for a lot of reasons throughout the year, and many of those reasons ultimately add up to Dollywood; the second-most popular attraction in the history of the Smoky Mountains with only the mountains themselves (and the National Park) topping the level of attraction Dollywood brings to our area. The reason for Dollywood’s success is simple: three decades of providing serious, high quality entertainment with shows, festivals, arts and crafts and, most definitely, the rides. We don’t have a huge, name-brand family fun park like Disneyland or Six Flags or anything like that anywhere near us for miles and miles and miles, so Dollywood, both with their flagship park and their nearby Splash Country waterpark, more than makes up for that with a slew of rollercoasters, thrill rides, children’s rides and play areas and much more.
